Physical and chemical properties




 



Boron nitride insulation protection tube is milky white, with a true density of 2.27g/cm2, a Mohs hardness of 2, a high melting point (sublimation at 3000℃), and a service temperature of up to 2800℃ in an inert atmosphere. Its thermal conductivity is similar to that of stainless steel, at 25w/(m·k). The linear expansion coefficient is (2.0~6.5)x10-℃, with excellent thermal shock resistance, and can survive hundreds of hot and cold cycles from 1000℃ to 20℃ without damage.



Boron nitride products have good chemical stability and poor oxidation resistance, but can resist the erosion of acids, alkalis, molten metals and glass, and do not react with most molten metals such as copper, stainless steel, iron, tin, zinc, lead, etc.



 







Application areas




 



Boron nitride insulation protection tube can be used as a crucible for melting and evaporating metals, a boat, a pipe for conveying liquid metals, a separation ring for continuous steel casting, a rocket nozzle, a high-temperature thermocouple protection sleeve, etc. Special products such as boron nitride fiber can be used as high-temperature fluid filters, radiation protection clothing, high-temperature furnace linings and thermal insulation materials.



Boron nitride film covered on a certain substrate can make it have heat resistance, insulation, corrosion resistance and other properties.
